"I'm just headed out on a run. You have nothing to worry about," Alexandria held the phone to her ear as she sat on the edge of her bed in the small studio apartment. She had felt trapped from the moment she got into the town. It seemed like all anyone did was go out to the few bars or gossip at the diner and coffee shop, but she could tell why the town was their filming location. It was perfect for the script, but it was not the perfect place for Alexandria as she tried to make sure she remained on the straight and narrow. "It's just going to be a few miles to clear my head. I'm not going to a bar, and I already showed you my room is free from anything tempting. You know I'm serious about this project, so you don't have to worry," Alexandria pulled the phone from her ear, pressing the red circle in the middle of the flat touch screen to end the call. She'd been getting calls from Clay every single day if they didn't see each other, or when she hadn't texted him recently just asking if she was doing okay or if she needed anything. Alexandria thought she was going to go crazy if she kept hearing from him so frequently knowing he didn't share her feelings toward him. Alexandria pulled her light brown wavy hair back into a high ponytail on the back of her head, looking at herself in the full length mirror she had delivered to her apartment, because the normal mirrors in the bathroom weren't enough for her. Her hair fell from her ponytail down past her shoulders on her back, and her Nike running shorts showed her lightly tanned legs, and instead of a shirt she wore just a sports bra to show off her flat stomach. It was a small town, so hopefully no paparazzi around to criticize her for being proud of her body. The body she created. They would turn even the most innocent actions, like going for a run in just her sports bra, into something that made her look like she just wanted attention from guys. Everyone wanted her to be the girl they saw when her sex tape was released, but Alexandria believed she had changed, and she just wanted to prove it to people. Headphones in her ears and music blasting Alexandria made her way out of the room, down the brightly lit hallway with it's red carpets and gold accents, trying to make it out to be some upscale building in the center of the small town, when it was really just the one nice place to stay in the small town. She didn't see a single other person on her way down the hall, and only finally saw someone as she descended the white staircase to the lobby where there were a few people standing around, just tourists and employees, including the man who owned the room where she was staying at the moment. He hadn't known who she was at first, because she was dressed so casually, but when he found out she was there on the movie things changed. He had been nice, but now just kind of watched her as she came and left from the building on a daily basis. Alexandria pulled a black Lululemon hat over her head to hide her identity just slightly as she walked out of the building, looking down at her phone to pull up an app to track her run. As Alexandria turned right out of the driveway to the hotel beginning to run she wasn't sure where she was going. She hadn't explored very much more than scouting locations for the movie with Clay, or trying to find somewhere to get a bite to eat. Her mind was focused on every step she took and the rhythm of her breathing as she made her way through town and headed down one of the side roads to see where it went. To her it looked like just a bunch of houses, some with some land, and it went on for a ways, so Alexandria just continued to listen to the sound of her footsteps as she landed softly on each side. Her eyes were slightly ahead, but she had started not to pay too much attention, ignoring the people walking toward town on the other side of the street and the cars that went by, actually giving space as if it was a normal thing to see someone out for a run in the area. As the brunette got wrapped up in listening to her music and how good it felt to be focused on the run and nothing else she felt her right foot get caught on a rock or a crack in the road, promptly falling directly forward, catching herself with only her forearms. It took a moment for her to fully realize what had just happened, starting to get up and look around to see how many people had just witnessed her graceless fall on the pavement, not even noticing yet the blood running down her elbows and right knee. |
