ARIANA JACQUELINE PIERCE
THE MAYOR
The mayor is Ariana's mother's brother. He was born and raised in Ellisville, but he left for a while to work as a lawyer in Birmingham, coming back when his parents were getting old, and moving back to the old family plantation with his wife and young son. He started a small law practice in town, traveling to Birmingham and Montgomery sometimes for work, leaving his son and wife back in Ellisville. During this time he was also always helping out his younger sister, Alison, who was living in Nashville, raising a daughter on her own. Eight years ago his wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and after a two year long battle, she lost her life to the disease, leaving behind her husband and son. Four years ago he was elected to his first term as mayor, and he was just re-elected for another four year term. Being a small town, he still has freedom to practice law and travel on occasion. He is around the age of 41, and has recently taken in his niece, Ariana.

Everything else about this character is up to you.

THE COUSIN
The mayor's son has had a pretty normal life. He grew up with his dad a lawyer, and moved back into his dad's hometown when he was young. At the age of ten his mother was diagnosed with cancer, and at the age of twelve the disease took his life. Growing up in the summer's he would spend a lot of time outside with friends, and for at least one month out of the year his cousin Ariana would come to visit. Up until age fourteen it was okay to have his cousin around, but after that he kind of got protective, and doesn't like his friends coming around her. He is eighteen and going into his senior year.

Most details other than the above are up to you. I see him as kind of taking on the protective older brother role, since they've been close growing up, and Ariana is someone who doesn't exactly appreciate it.

THE HALF-SISTER
Ariana has no idea she exists, but _____ Walker definitely knows Ariana exists after hearing an argument her father had with Ariana's mother over the phone. Starting high school is complicated enough, but starting high school and having to have your mystery half-sister as a teammate must be even harder on _____ Walker, who fears that her father's other daughter moving into town may begin to hurt her parents' normally good relationship.

How _____ Walker knows Ariana is her sister is up to you. Ariana doesn't know she has a half sister or who her father is, so this could be really interesting.

ALEXANDRIA HARPETH SINCLAIR
CLAY
Clay plays an important role in Alexandria's life. He is the son of a movie producer who didn't want to go into production when he graduated from college, but he didn't know what to do. In need of money and some work experience, while he didn't have the most useful college degree, he picked up a job as Alexandria's handler, hired by her mother and the production company to keep her on track and keep production happy that she was on the straight and narrow. He traveled with her even, spending holidays with her family, rather than his where relationships were strained. He was a pain in the ass to her when he was first hired, but their sort of friendship formed because he never lies to her, and doesn't bother to sugar coat things.

While trying to clean up her act some, Alexandria got hooked on the attention she got from Clay, throwing herself at him this past spring, but after being rejected she began to feel alone and going out more again, and she started to spend less time with him. She attempted to get Clay to sleep with her one more time prior to her overdose. While in rehab she gave him a script she had written, he gave it to his father, and they got the money to produce it, and now they're preparing to shoot the film in Ellisville. He's sitting in as the writer, so she can avoid the pressure of it for the time being.

He's around 27-28. They met when he was just out of college and she was 17 and had just gotten her acting career started a year earlier (check her history in the bio).

THE LEADING MAN
Alexandria is working hard to maintain a clean image while filming, but her costar is doing anything he can to make her life more difficult. He shows up late to run lines and get fitted for his clothes, and regularly disrupts things bringing up her colorful past. He doesn't understand why she would be so uptight about a small budget movie, blissfully unaware that while Clay is acting as the writer, she wrote the script and wants it to turn out right. He sees her as the girl she used to be when they worked on an earlier film together.. He sees the girl who's boyfriend back then released a sex tape of her, and he is trying to bring out the worst in her. He's in the age range of 22-24.

KATERINA AVERY BUCHANAN
THE BROTHER
Katerina and her brother were both born and raised in Ellisville. He is older than her, around the age of 30, and they have a mostly good relationship.  Growing up he was the annoying, pestering older brother, but as they got older he was there to be everything for her. Most recently the two have had a few problems, because Katerina never came home to see her sick mother near the end, but he is still there for her no matter what happens. When she broke up with her boyfriend of six years and decided she needed a change in her life, he was all for having Katerina back in Ellisville so they could act like real family again, instead of just talking on the phone and texting each other when they need someone to talk to. He has been both therapist and annoyance to Katerina over the years and is now her only family, because her relationship with her father has become so strained. They're very close, and currently both living in their mom's old house while trying to get things together after their mother's death. While Katerina sees nothing as being wrong between them, he does harbor some anger toward her, because she refused to come back to the town from the time she graduated high school until her mother's death over the summer, which could cause some strain in their perfect sibling relationship.

His relationship with the rest of his family, career path, and life other than his relationship with his sister are up to you.

THE FORMER FIANCE
This is the one want ad where I am going to be very specific about the character in some ways. I'm calling him David for now, because that was his name on a previous site, but we never got that far in the plot.

David and Katerina both grew up in Ellisville, so they knew each other their whole lives, but they were different from each other. Katerina was the overachiever who wanted to get out of the town more than anything, while at the time David was kind of the slacker type who just got by in school. They knew each other, but they weren't extremely close or anything until their junior year of high school. Junior year of high school David began to notice Katerina more and more and tried to flirt with her and asked her out multiple times before they finally began dating in the middle of that year.

David and Katerina continued to date. He brought his grades up some, and she relaxed a little when she was around him. On the day of prom senior year Katerina discovered she was pregnant, and a week later he proposed, and made sure she knew it was not just because she was pregnant at the time. Then came graduation, where Katerina was about to give her valedictorian speech, but collapsed just before she began from an ectopic pregnancy. Katerina lost the baby, and then she left, the day before the pair was going to get married.

Over the past nine years both David and Katerina have grown and changed. David got his life together and went to college and then law school, and now works for a firm i town, splitting his time between working in town and out of town on bigger cases, but he hasn't been able to keep a long term relationship, dwelling on what he did wrong to make the one girl he loved leave town. Katerina followed her plan. She went to school at Alabama for two years, then transferred to Georgia where she graduated after her third year of school. Afterward she went on to law school and has been a serial monogamist, having had two long term relationships. She didn't set foot in Ellisville again until her mother died of early onset alzheimer's a few months ago, and then moved back after turning down a proposal from her most recent relationship.

David and Katerina haven't seen each other since she left, and she has never found someone who lives up to the relationship she had with him.

THE BOSS
Kat's boss at Escape is kind of a sleaze, but the kind of sleaze that when you're feeling vulnerable, you end up sleeping with. He's a few years older than her, and someone she knew of, or sometimes talked to when she was in high school, but not someone she was friends with, since she was the overachiever, and he would have been the kind of guy who enjoyed the higher side of life more.

Since returning to Ellisville, Kat has needed money, and there isn't enough money in legal work in the town, and she's not ready to set up a practice and settle to travel half the time for it, so she asked for a job working at the bar, which was no problem, since she's attractive and will do her job without getting drunk while working. She does her job well, so he ignores it when she comes into work a few minutes late because she was stuck at the courthouse and she takes over his office to change, because she's not changing clothes in a bar bathroom. He'll make comments about her body or wanting to sleep with her, and while the lawyer side of her says it's sexual harassment, the practical side says it has done no harm, and she could use her current job

From the beginning of this, you can see I kind of have the idea that something might happen between these two down the road, and it will probably complicate things at work for her, but nothing ever serious. For the most part, when he's not harassing her, and she's not taking over his office as a changing room, they have a kind of playful relationship.

[SVETLANA NATALIE BEAUREGARD]

SVETLANA NATALIE BEAUREGARD
THE BOYFRIEND
I am weirdly specific about certain details, but flexible on others, so don't be afraid to ask. Svetlana is the aspiring actress in a small town who has a history of sleeping with her costars. This has happened more than a few times in her school, and then one day junior year, she met her current boyfriend, who we will call Tyler for now, because I need a name instead of typing the boyfriend or just using pronouns for now.

Obviously, it is a small town, so they have known each other all of their lives, but junior year was when they really got close and by the spring (around January February really) they started dating for real, and he even was her date to cotillion, but then things started to change when she went home to meet his parents, and she got a very cold reception from them.

Tyler's family is very old southern, like her own, but in their case, he isn't adopted from a foreign country, or trying to be an actor, two things that make them look down on Svetlana. They see her as a drama queen who is just out for attention, and not good enough for their son, because she may come from old southern money, but she isn't actually related to them. They think she is just a phase and that he needs to get over her, and they have made it clear every time she is around, which is why Svetlana asks him if it is okay time to come over, and they rarely leave the renovated barn where he lives.

Things with her own family have been falling apart, so she has slowly been spending more time staying with him and not at home, but things have also gotten tense between them at times. The influence of his parents has made him question if she is good enough, and when he is reminded by other guys at school that she wasn't exactly a virgin when they started dating, it doesn't help. Their fights have gotten physical, but he always stops her from leaving, and they never talk about it again.

THE SISTER
Svetlana and her sister have some jealousy issues going on in their family right now. Their parents couldn't get pregnant, even with IVF, so they decided to adopt, which is how they ended up with Svetlana, but within a week of bringing her home, they found out they were going to have a baby of their own. Of course the two of them have always loved their daughters equally, but when Svetlana found out she was adopted things got rough between the girls.

Svetlana's sister, when she found this out, also found out she was an accident, and unplanned, not the daughter they wanted and chose, while Svetlana sees herself as not being their biological child, so she isn't good enough. Over the past year things have grown tense between the two girls. They're at the same school now, with Svetlana as a senior and her sister as a sophomore, and their personalities could not be more different. Svetlana loves acting and has always enjoyed going out, while her sister is more active in sports and schoolwork, and less involved in going out.

The sister is sixteen and a sophomore in high school, and she needs to be blonde, because both of her parents are, and Svetlana has dark hair.
